For csv files generated in Editorial Manager, the corresponding author’s country is set as the manuscript’s country of origin.
For csv files generated in ScholarOne, the submitting author’s country is set as the manuscript’s country of origin. To change this to the corresponding author’s country, follow the edit instructions at the back on the Extraction Report procedures in the link below. Remove (cut) the Author Type: Submitting Author field. From the Authors group, select the Author Type: Corresponding Author and click Insert. Add the filter on the Corresponding Author field to show corresponding authors (Show only the following: Yes).
What if the corresponding author changes?
For most charts, the default setting in Origin Reports is to show the information for the original manuscript. Therefore, the country information shown on most of the charts will be for the original corresponding author. However, the Final Decision charts would show the country for whoever was the corresponding author when the final decision was submitted.
NOTE: Some corresponding/submitting authors list two countries of residence. This can cause duplicate rows in the csv file. Origin Reports looks for these duplicates and keeps only the first entry for that submission.
